BCS 25.4 – More Overview, Informed Decisions, Simple Organization

With BCS 25.4, users benefit from significantly improved project controlling, greater transparency, and more efficient daily work. Modernized diagrams and an interactive milestone chart simplify the analysis of costs, project progress, and trends, making deviations and opportunities immediately visible. At the same time, an optimized Kanban Board enables fast and intuitive personal work organization in daily operations. Additional new filtering and reporting functions in tickets, time tracking, and resource planning take processes to the next level.

Modernized Cost Diagram with Tree Structure

The cost diagram (total, personnel, and material costs) in BCS has been technically and visually modernized and switched to D3 chart technology. It now aligns consistently with other diagrams such as the effort diagram, project plan, and Gantt chart. The new tree structure maps the entire project hierarchy and allows flexible expansion and collapse of WBS elements.

Project managers and controllers gain a much better overview of total, personnel, and material costs at all levels—from programs to individual work packages. Budget deviations are easier to spot thanks to clear bar and traffic-light visualizations. Filter and display options allow targeted analysis by cost type, time period, or planning model. The new cost diagram improves transparency and supports informed decisions in project controlling.

Interactive Milestone Chart with D3 and New Analysis Functions

The milestone chart in BCS has been migrated to D3 and updated to match the modern styling of the historical line chart. Line labels are now displayed directly at the line ends and move on hover. Users can click to access milestone master data directly. Tooltips have been enhanced to show category information and shortened labels.

Users benefit from a clear, interactive chart, a new time-range filter, consistent display in overview board elements, and the ability to embed the chart in reports. The layout has been optimized. The modernization facilitates analysis, makes trends immediately visible, and ensures a consistent, intuitive presentation of milestone progress.

The feature is available in BCS.light.

Optimization of Views and Usability in “My Kanban Board”

The “My Kanban Board” view in “My Area,” including the subviews “Cards” and “List” and the card editing dialog, has been GUI-optimized. New defaults, column and filter adjustments allow large numbers of cards to be searched, edited, and displayed more quickly. A text filter searches multiple attributes simultaneously. Meta-information such as category and priority is visible directly on the cards. The list view has been enhanced with new columns, inline editing, edit buttons, and new/copy functions.

Cards can now be deleted directly in all Agile boards and in “My Kanban Board” via the Delete key. These changes make the personal Kanban board much clearer, faster, and more intuitive, greatly increasing efficiency when managing large numbers of cards.

These features and functions are available for BCS.light.

Ticket Evaluations via Keywords

A keyword filter has been added in the “Ticket Evaluations” view, allowing tickets to be analyzed by topic, even if they are distributed across different customers or projects. The filter searches all relevant board elements simultaneously and can be defined directly on the board, enabling targeted analysis by keyword.

This allows staff to quickly assess the importance of individual topics or ticket types without manually reviewing all tickets. The filter provides more efficient, focused evaluations and eases work, especially with large ticket volumes.

This feature is available in BCS.light.

"What also impresses us is the release stability and transparency of Projektron BCS itself. We always have the feeling that we are transparently informed about product development - whether via the website, the newsletter or the release events in the fixed quarterly release cycle. One visit to the website and you can see immediately: What is planned for the next release? What has been released recently? What is already available, but maybe I don't use it yet? Because of this transparency and reliability, Projektron's product development deserves great praise."

"We appreciate the flexibility and maximum customizability that BCS offers. In fact, we have also had many specifications made. We always eagerly await new BCS versions, and we usually update very quickly after a new release. Here we see another fantastic advantage of BCS - it is maximally customizable and yet easily update-compatible."

Preview – BCS 26.1

The agile development model Scrum combined with the appropriate BCS support makes it possible: Find out here which important innovations are planned for the next version. Please note that there is no guarantee that the announced features will appear in exactly this form and in the next release. Short-term changes cannot be ruled out.

Modernized Stakeholder and Context Analysis with D3 Diagrams

In BCS 26.1, the stakeholder analysis in project diagrams will be upgraded to modern D3 technology. Project managers and teams can clearly capture even large numbers of stakeholders, assess influence and attitude in detail, and grasp the project context at a glance. This makes the analysis more efficient, intuitive, and scalable, especially for complex projects with many participants. It helps teams make well-informed decisions faster and involve stakeholders in a targeted way.

Enhanced Ticket Communication and Group Queries

BCS 26.1 significantly improves ticket communication and clarity. Internal and external comments are now clearly separated, reducing misunderstandings and helping teams quickly identify relevant information. The enhanced query feature also facilitates collaboration: questions can be directed to entire groups at once, ensuring all responsible parties are informed and work continues smoothly even during absences or team changes. This saves time, reduces duplicate work, and ensures structured, transparent ticket handling.

Graphical Time Tracking Analysis for Better Overview

With BCS 26.1, managers and employees gain a far more intuitive overview of working times. The new graphical representation shows booked hours in comparison with planned working hours, vacation, and sick leave, making it immediately clear how effort is distributed across projects and categories and how absences affect workload. Filter options allow targeted analysis of specific time periods, and the display can be broken down by project category or viewed as a total. Overall, this visualization simplifies time tracking analysis, makes trends and deviations instantly visible, and complements existing tabular overviews with a clear, visual perspective.

Daily Time Logging in the BCS App – Booking List Integration

The upcoming BCS version will expand the app with a clear daily booking list. Users can view their already recorded entries directly in the app, without needing to open the desktop application, making time tracking significantly more flexible and mobile. The integration provides an immediate overview of recorded bookings and simplifies operation through intuitive buttons. Overall, this makes time tracking faster, more transparent, and easier to integrate into daily work.

Quick Access to Recently Opened or Edited Views

In the upcoming BCS version, navigation for experienced users will become much more efficient: recently opened or edited views, including all subviews, can be accessed directly via the search bar. This saves time and reduces errors, as users no longer need to navigate through menus or tabs. Personal usage history is managed automatically, longer lists can be easily viewed, and history can be cleared or disabled if needed. Overall, this feature streamlines access to key information, increases clarity, and accelerates daily work in BCS.
