Exemplary implementation project: Data Processing Center Mecklenburg-Vorpommern honored with PRINCE2 Best Practice Award 2016

The Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Data Processing Center (DVZ) was awarded first prize in the PRINCE2 Best Practice Awards of BPUG Deutschland e.V. for excellent performance in project management during the introduction of the web-based project management software Projektron BCS.

The IT service provider for the state administration of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern submitted a bid for the project to introduce an enterprise project management system. The Europe-wide tender was won by Projektron BCS, as the software best met the approximately 400 requirements from 14 areas. Supplementary adaptations and PRINCE2-specific functionalities were developed in collaboration with the DVZ project office and are now available to all Projektron BCS users as standard. From January 1, 2017, Projektron BCS will replace the in-house solution in productive operation as professional project management software and support DVZ employees in all projects - from initiation to completion.

With the PRINCE2 Best Practice Award, the Best Practice User Group (BPUG) Germany recognizes projects that are characterized by an outstanding use of the PRINCE2 method. An independent jury analyzes and evaluates the submitted projects. The award was presented on November 18, 2016, during the BPUG Congress in Frankfurt am Main.
