Use BCS in a Microsoft environment
Whether Microsoft 365 applications such as Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel, ERP Dynamics 365 Business Central, the Microsoft Entra access management platform, or server solutions such as Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint: BCS works hand in hand with your Microsoft environment.
Microsoft Exchange
Interface performance
The interface between BCS or BCS.light and Microsoft Exchange (2019) offers you the following options for bidirectional synchronization:
- Synchronisation of appointments and notes between both systems
- Synchronisation of Microsoft tasks and BCS reminders
In addition, the interface provides you with the following possibility for unidirectional synchronization:
- Automatic transmission of BCS contact data as well as changes thereof in public files of the Microsoft Exchange Server

With Microsoft Exchange, you can organize data within networks, for example, for the maintenance of intranets or for the administration of e-mails and appointments.
Microsoft Exchange Online & Teams
Interface performance between BCS and Microsoft 365
The interface allows you to synchronize appointments, appointment series, and appointments with multiple participants between BCS and Microsoft Exchange Online (Microsoft 365). Synchronization is bidirectional, meaning that appointments created, changed, or deleted in one system are promptly created, edited, or deleted in the other system. Optionally, unidirectional synchronization is also possible, whereby data is only transferred in one direction.
Seamless integration of Microsoft Teams meetings: Conveniently organize online meetings from within BCS
In BCS and BCS.light, appointments can be marked as Teams online meetings without having to switch to Outlook or Teams. When the appointment is saved, an online meeting is automatically created in Microsoft 365 and the corresponding meeting link is stored in the appointment description in BCS after synchronization. To avoid conflicts with user changes, the description remains locked during synchronization.
Program information about the integration
BCS logs in as an authorized app in Microsoft 365 to ensure secure communication. Setup is done via a shell script that facilitates the registration of BCS as an app in the Microsoft 365 portal.
Synchronization of BCS with Microsoft Outlook
The interface offers several options for transferring data between BCS and Microsoft Outlook:
- Export of BCS appointments, follow-ups, and notes in the standard iCalendar (ICS) format for easy integration into Outlook.
- Provision of BCS calendars via subscriptions so that changes in BCS automatically appear in Outlook.
- Direct synchronization of appointments, agendas, follow-ups, and notes via Microsoft Exchange to synchronize data between the systems in real time.
In addition, it is possible to export contacts from BCS to Microsoft 365. The export creates defined BCS contacts in the personal contact folders of Sync users, making it easier to use centrally maintained contacts directly in Outlook.
Program information for use in Outlook
To display BCS data in Microsoft Outlook, users can import calendars in iCalendar format or integrate them via subscriptions. While imported data is static, subscribed calendars are automatically updated on a regular basis.
Microsoft Outlook can be used both as a standalone application and in combination with a Microsoft Exchange Server.
Microsoft Active Directory

BCS offers an interface to Microsoft SharePoint – On Premise via WebDAV with the following options:
- Access to documents and directories stored on a MicrosoftSharePoint platform
- Upload, lock, edit and delete
- documents and directories stored on a Microsoft SharePoint platform
Microsoft Project
Interface performance
The interface provides you with the following possibilities for exchanging data with Microsoft Project:
- Export of BCS project structure data
- Import of Microsoft Project data in the CSV format
Microsoft SharePoint - On Premise
Interface performance
BCS offers an interface to Microsoft SharePoint - On Premise via WebDAV with the following options:
- Access to documents and directories stored on a MicrosoftSharePoint platform
- Upload, lock, edit, and delete
- documents and directories stored on a Microsoft SharePoint platform
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Performance
During our workshops, we work with you to develop the right interface solution for smooth data exchange with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
For interface configuration, we use our flexible import/export module, which allows us to read, import, and modify virtually any objects from BCS.
Microsoft Entra ID
Microsoft Entra ID is a powerful identity and access management platform that enables secure access to applications, data, and resources. With features such as single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, role-based access, and identity protection, it provides centralized, reliable control of all digital identities—for users and services alike. This gives businesses the benefit of a consistently secure zero trust architecture.
Thanks to the standardized SCIM interface, users and groups can be automatically transferred and synchronized from Microsoft Entra ID or other identity providers to BCS. This greatly simplifies user management, regardless of whether the accounts are new or existing. For organizations that already use OIDC for authentication, this feature integrates seamlessly into existing security structures and creates additional efficiency. The SCIM interface is available for the BCS edition, not for BCS.light.

You can generate all BCS reports in the Microsoft Word DOCX format.
Microsoft Excel
Interface performance
BCS offers you the following options for exchanging data with Microsoft Excel:
- Export of almost all BCS evaluations in the standard CSV format
- Export of reports in XLSX format
- Import of data, for example from offline time recording, in the standard CSV format
Microsoft PowerPoint
Interface performance
You can generate Projektron BCS reports for Microsoft PowerPoint up to Office 2019.
Program information
With Microsoft PowerPoint, you can prepare and process presentation slides.
