Profile

The Natural and Medical Sciences Institute at the University of Tübingen (NMI) in Reutlingen is a non-profit foundation under civil law and employs around 200 people from over 15 nations. The institute conducts research in the fields of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology as well as biomedicine and materials science.

Since its foundation in June 1985, an interdisciplinary team of scientists has been conducting application-orientated research at the interface of bio- and material sciences. The institute supports companies and public research sponsors from the idea to the authorisation and market launch of the new product. The services include sub-projects and individual services such as consulting, technology assessment, application preparation, concept development and/or project coordination. The laboratories offer accredited testing services.

The NMI is a member of the Baden-Württemberg Innovation Alliance (innBW).
