The German automotive supplier HELLA was founded in 1899, has its headquarters in Lippstadt and around 38,200 employees worldwide. The HELLA Group operates in three segments:
- Automotive Industry OE (Original Equipment): the development, production and marketing of lighting and electronic components and systems for both vehicle manufacturers and other suppliers.
- Aftermarket: HELLA develops, produces and markets products for the independent aftermarket and for workshops.
- User areas SOE (Special Original Equipment): serves target groups ranging from manufacturers of construction machinery and boat builders to municipalities and energy suppliers with lighting and electronics products.
Hella was acquired in 2021 by the French supplier Faurecia, which has since changed its name to Forvia. It is now one of the largest automotive companies in the world.
