Clear criteria – tested quality
Not every product is allowed to carry the seal. It is awarded on a product-specific basis and is reviewed annually by the BITMi and an independent expert advisory board.
The following requirements, among others, apply to Software Made in Germany:
Manufacturer based in Germany
Essential development and manufacturing steps in Germany
Quality assurance in Germany
German-language or multilingual user interfaces, documentation, and support
Contractually guaranteed future security
Verifiable customer references
